BREAKING: NFL DEVASTATED After Financial Report Reveals Damage Their Protesting Athletes Have Caused

The National Football League has not even made it to the halfway point of the 2017 season, yet the financial consequences of commissioner Roger Goodell allowing players to disrespect the national anthem are starting to materialize. CEO Allan Jones, of Check Into Cash, has pulled all advertising with the NFL; Denver Broncos star linebacker Brandon Marshall has lost a sponsorship deal, television ratings are down 11% as of week 3 of the season, and DIRECTTV is giving refunds to customers who had NFL Sunday Ticket, Now the news is in on ticket sales.

The Washington Examiner has just reported that professional football ticket sales have plummeted nearly 20 percent this week compared to last week. These statistics which were provided by TickPick, an online reseller for NFL tickets, indicated the exact drop in ticket sales for NFL games from last week until now is 17.9%. TickPick representative Jack Slingland said of the drop in ticket sales, “We have seen a massive decrease in NFL ticket purchases this past week in comparison to years past. Week 3 seems to usually have less ticket orders than week 2, but this year ticket purchases are down more than 7 percent from this time last year.” This significant drop in ticket sales is no doubt the result of commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL team owners allowing players to take a knee during the national anthem, or in the case of the Pittsburgh Steelers, not even taking the field. However, several teams such as the Denver Broncos, the Green Bay Packers, and the Chicago Bears, have all released statements indicating all players will now stand for the national anthem. Still, serious damage has been done, and the NFL has its work cut out to regain customer loyalty.

This “taking a knee” during the national anthem has caused NFL fans to look for entertainment elsewhere. The Legends Football League, formerly known as the Lingerie Football League, has stated that none of their players or coaches will be taking a knee during the national anthem. The loss of the NFL is now the gain of the LFL.

Commissioner Roger Goodell made a calculated mistake in not enforcing his leagues own rules when it comes to players standing for the national anthem. Instead, he released a statement condoning the actions of these disrespectful players, exacerbating the problem, and causing the various financial consequences we are now seeing.

President Trump correctly stated via Twitter that, “If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our flag and country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend!” The liberal media attempted to take President Trump’s comment out of context and insinuated this whole mess was about race, to which President Trump responded, “This has nothing to do with race. I never said anything about race. This has nothing to do with race or anything else. This has to do with respect for our country and respect for our flag.” This lack of respect, which these self-entitled crybaby players have demonstrated only serves to cause their own destruction. Fans are not going to sit by and support a team or an organization which openly spits on America and all that she stands for.

The commissioner of the National Football League, Roger Goodell, had the nerve to claim that President Trump’s various remarks about NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem are disrespectful and divisive. Perhaps the commissioner would be wise to understand that if he and the rest of the NFL want respect, they are going to have to show it by standing for the national anthem.

These professional athletes are on a collision course with the real world and are going to see how much power the fans really have. Ratings will continue to drop, ticket sales will continue to drop, and it is likely DIRECTTV is going to issue many more refunds. Teams are also feeling the pinch in the area of apparel sales. Rather than fans going out and spending their hard earned money on team apparel, they are burning what they have.

The fan base of the NFL is comprised of people who love America first, and although President Trump’s comments calling players SOB’s is abrasive, it is a direct reflection of what NFL fans feel when they see a player kneel during the national anthem.
