Peacefully protesting is a Constitutional right. We as American’s have the right to peaceful protest, but the “protests” of recent have led to riots, and personal property damage. What is even worse is that these aren’t just everyday people, these people are bought and paid for. The Craigslist ad proves this to be true. Take a look a recent ad offering these leftists money to violently riot against Trump:
But unfortunately for these idiots who want to try their antics in Arizona, they’re about to get a brutal taste of reality. On Feb 22, Republican state senators located in Arizona passed a bill that would allow the police to seize assets from those far-left protesters that have made the decision to become violent. SB1142 is the bill that gives the police the ability seize assets. It broadens the state’s racketeering laws, which now include rioting. They previously were aimed at organized crime. The law also redefines what rioting is.
According to the Arizona Capital Times, the bill, which passed Wednesday, “expands the state’s racketeering laws, now aimed at organized crime, to also include rioting,” and redefines “what constitutes rioting to include actions that result in damage to the property of others.”
State Sen. John Kavanagh (R-Fountain Hills), who supported the bill, believes that the bill stops those active in “professional protest” whose only plan is to start chaos:
“You now have a situation where you have full-time, almost professional agent-provocateurs that attempt to create public disorder,” Kavanagh, a former police officer, told the Capitol Times. “Wouldn’t you rather stop a riot before it starts? Do you really want to wait until people are injuring each other, throwing Molotov cocktails, picking up barricades and smashing them through businesses in downtown Phoenix?”
Hopefully this new law will help to deter people from these riots, but I am afraid that it won’t help. Unfortunately laws don’t always help these types of situations; however it is possible other states will follow suit, and with enough exposure people will quit these shenanigans. I guess it is a wait and see situation. I just hope no more property will be damaged, and people will start to respect the new POTUS.
