JUST IN: Trey Gowdy Destroys Obama Officials Who Unmasked President Trump’s Team

There are few members of Congress that fight for the American people’s rights the way Trey Gowdy does, and now he is on the warpath trying to seek the truth about who leaked names of President Trump’s campaign members. Gowdy recently made a statement that Democrats will be livid over.

The statement read  “We’re not going to reauthorize these surveillance programs if the American people are not satisfied that their security is going to be safeguarded.” He went on to say that people should be more concerned with the leaks that came late in Obama’s term than surveillance programs that ultimately hurt America’s reputation and safety.

According to Americas Freedom Fighter:

He’s one of the numerous Republican congressmen who has been trying to get to the bottom of who unmasked and then leaked the names of President Trump’s campaign members, and apparently, his patience is running out. Both Democrats and former administration officials alike have been stonewalling any attempts to get to the bottom of the issue, but it appears as if their time has run out.

For those unaware, Susan Rice and others had “unmasked” the names of people who were caught up in foreign surveillance operations. The collection of their information was said to be incidental, but revealing their names and leaking them to the media was very intentional.

These leaks were just a few of many that appeared to be designed to undermine the Trump administration, and thankfully it looks as if Gowdy is going to put an end to them once and for all.

The Free Beacon reports:

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R., S.C.) on Wednesday said government surveillance programs would not receive the necessary congressional reauthorization for them to continue at the end of the year unless officials answer questions on who in the intelligence community unmasked certain individuals.

Keep in mind that Rice and others have flat out refused to testify over the matter, despite being more than willing to go on friendly media outlets to plead their innocence. So now Gowdy is going to ensure these people start talking, or the very programs they used to spy on Americans are going to be terminated.

“We’re not going to reauthorize these surveillance programs if the American people are not satisfied that their security is going to be safeguarded,” Gowdy told Hemmer.

“The unmasking within the intelligence community, that is a privilege to be able to request that a U.S. person’s name be unmasked and I want to know who’s making the request, what is the evidentiary basis of that request,” Gowdy continued.

Gowdy stressed that people should be most concerned with the leaks that came late in Obama’s term, and he’s right. They seemed specifically designed to harm the incoming president, even though Obama had promised to have as smooth of a transition as possible.

Gowdy hit the nail on the head. If these “leaders” have no accountability for what they do,  why should we trust them with these powerful tools at their fingertips? Thankfully Gowdy is not afraid to pull his punches. These are the type of leaders America needs. We don’t need politicians who only have their own best interests in mind. We stand behind you, Congressman Gowdy.

What do you think about Gowdy and how he is handling this situation? Sound off in the comments below.
