John McCain consistently tells the world what he really thinks of Trump, but most sane people don’t really care to listen to the incoherent ramblings of an old senile man. Although we do have to give him some credit, what Trump said about him being a POW was out of line, but that’s Trump and we knew it when we elected him.
We got it John, and good for you for standing up for yourself, but when are you going to stand up for the American people, that’s what I want to know.
He finally had his chance to do the right thing after a recent vote came up in the Senate that would roll back an insane amount of regulations and rules that killed jobs in the energy sector. The vote ended up being sidetracked by one key GOP defector… McCain.
According to Reuters:
The U.S. Senate on Wednesday rejected a resolution to revoke an Obama-era rule to limit methane emissions from oil and gas production on federal lands, dealing a blow to President Donald Trump’s efforts to free the drilling industry from what he sees as excessive environmental regulation.
The Congressional Review Act resolution received just 49 votes after Republican leaders scrambled for weeks to secure the 51 needed to pass it. The resolution would have revoked the rule and prevented similar regulations from being introduced.
Republican Senator John McCain of Arizona made a surprise vote against the resolution, joining fellow Republicans Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Susan Collins of Maine in opposition to torpedo it.
This should be unacceptable to the American people, just because he want’s to defy Obama he throws the rest of the country under the bus? What kind of a man does that? He wasn’t done there though.
“While the President has the legal authority to remove the Director of the FBI, I am disappointed in the President’s decision to remove James Comey from office,” McCain said in a statement.
Here is even more from the The Hill:
McCain said Comey’s firing amid the FBI’s Russia probe is all the more reason to form a special congressional committee that will independently investigate the matter.
“I have long called for a special congressional committee to investigate Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. The president’s decision to remove the FBI Director only confirms the need and the urgency of such a committee,” he continued.
While a number of GOP senators voiced support for Trump’s decision to fire the FBI chief, McCain praised Comey as “man of honor and integrity” who “has led the FBI well in extraordinary circumstances.”
“This scandal is going to go on. I’ve seen it before,” McCain continued. “This is a centipede. I guarantee you there will be more shoes to drop, I can just guarantee it. There’s just too much information that we don’t have that will be coming out.”
If Trump intended to disrupt the FBI investigation, McCain said, it wouldn’t work. McCain’s time has come and gone and it’s time to get someone in office that will work for theAmerican people and not against them due to a feud. We get it John, and we appreciate your service, but maybe that’s where you should have stopped for everyone’s sake.
