“Oppressed” NFL Player Brandon Marshall Just Woke Up To Devastating News After Disrespecting Our Country Over Weekend

While numerous players in the National Football League continue to take a knee during the national anthem, disrespecting the fans, and a majority of Americans, one particular player is learning the hard way that actions have consequences. Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall, who has been the spokesperson for Air Academy Federal Credit Union, has lost his sponsorship deal with the financial institution for taking a knee during the National Anthem prior to the Denver Broncos playing the Carolina Panthers this past Thursday. Air Academy Federal released a statement on Facebook saying, “Although we have enjoyed Brandon Marshall as our spokesperson over the past five months, Air Academy Federal Credit Union (AAFCU) has ended our partnership. AAFCU is a membership-based organization who has proudly served the military community for over 60 years. While we respect Brandon’s right to expression, his actions are not a representation of our organization and membership. We wish Brandon well on his future endeavors – Glenn Strebe President/CEO AAFCU”.

In response to losing this sponsorship, Brandon Marshall stated, “I’m not against the military. I’m not against the police or America. I’m just against social injustice.” While being interviewed after the game Brandon Marshall continued with, “Colin is my fraternity brother, my ex-teammate, and I believe in what he’s trying to do. I believe in his actions. So I definitely want to stand by him.” As far as the Denver Broncos front office is concerned, they have no issue with Brandon Marshall or anyone else in their organization disrespecting America and the National Anthem. The Denver Broncos front office said of their self-entitled social justice warrior, “While we encourage members of our organization to stand during the National Anthem, we understand and respect it being a personal decision.” The coach of the Denver Broncos doubled down on this sentiment and said, “Marshall has a right to his beliefs, and I’m going to keep us focused on football.” What the Denver Broncos front office and their coach fail to realize is that this disrespect they are allowing, they are alienating fans in droves, and it is going to be hard to focus on football when no one is coming to the games and no one is watching.

Making matters worse, Brandon Marshall would have the patriotic fans he is disrespecting believe that his actions and platform are justified because he is more than a football player. This is partly true in that he has the Constitutional right to take a knee during the National Anthem, but using the football field to inject politics is not the correct platform. He added to his comments saying, “I feel like this is the right platform. This is our only platform to really be heard. And I feel a lot of times people want us to just shut up and entertain them, shut up and play football. But we have voices as well. We’re actually educated individuals who went to college. So when we have an opinion and we speak it, I feel a lot of people bash us for what we have to say.”

President Trump has chimed in via Twitter, stating the obvious, “If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our flag and country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend!” Naturally, the liberal media attempted to misconstrue President Trump’s remarks making it seem that President Trump was contributing to racial tensions in America. President Trump responded to the ridiculous claim by saying, “This has nothing to do with race. I never said anything about race. This has nothing to do with race or anything else. This has to do with respect for our country and respect for our flag.”

The commissioner of the National Football League, Roger Goodell, had the nerve to claim that President Trump’s various remarks about NFL players taking a knee during the National Anthem are disrespectful and divisive. Perhaps the commissioner would be wise to understand that if he and the rest of the NFL want respect, they are going to have to show it by standing for the National Anthem. Otherwise, fans will continue to tune out, and the NFL will suffer financially.

Presently there is a petition online you can sign, letting the NFL and Roger Goodell know you will no longer support an organization that disrespects America, and you will stand with those who have fought and died for the rights we are afforded.
