Public schools in America used to teach children valuable skills, but over the years unqualified teachers and administrators have been allowed to teach our children, and public schools in America are nothing more than liberal indoctrination centers. Making the situation worse is that teaching Islam in our public schools has permeated into the system, and in most cases, parents only find out that their children are being taught Islam after the fact.
Recently, the Toronto School Board in Canada, has been doing these various heritage months. One month they had an “Asian Heritage Month” and a “Tamil Heritage Month,” but that is not what is giving some parents cause for concern. The Toronto School Board has recently launched the “Islamic Heritage Month” and in conjunction, released a 170-page guidebook that has various lesson plans for teachers. Anthony Furey from the Toronto Sun reported about this “Islamic Heritage Month” and some of what it entails:
“A list of announcements it suggests be read before or after the playing of O Canada include the Muslim greeting “As-salamu alaykum” (peace be upon you) and an invitation to visit a local mosque.
Children are encouraged to use paper cutouts to construct replicas of famous mosques around the world.
One assignment for students includes writing an article about one of 12 Muslim Canadians, four of whom are Liberal politicians currently in office, including Ontario Attorney General Yasir Naqvi”.
Looking at the materials provided by the Toronto School Board, teachers are also encouraged to promote Islam outside of “Islamic Heritage Month,” using the rest of the school year to indoctrinate non-Muslim children. This 170-page guidebook also leaves out the obvious bias that Islam shows toward gay and lesbian people. Moreover, the Toronto School Board has redefined Islamaphobia to mean, “Islamophobia refers to fear, prejudice, hatred or dislike directed against Islam or Muslims, or towards Islamic politics or culture.” In other words, if you don’t like Islam, then you are an Islamaphobe. So this means that students who are Christian and Jewish for example, who don’t pray to Allah, are prejudice according to the brilliant minds in the Toronto School Board.
Mr. Furey from the Toronto Sun continues, pointing out that a National Islamic organization in Canada was responsible for the material found in this 170-page guidebook.
“The guidebook, which seems to have been released in late September, appears to be heavily influenced by the National Council of Canadian Muslims, an activist organization based out of Ottawa. Back in 2014, the RCMP pulled its support from a booklet published by the NCCM on extremism due to their problem with its “adversarial tone.”
In the United States of America we have seen our own version of this Islamic indoctrination with the Department of Education funding something called “Access Islam.” Breitbart News interviewed the President of the Christian Action Network, Martin Mawyer, about this “Access Islam” material and he said, “’Access Islam” is funded by the Department of Education and is being promoted on various websites. So, PBS Learning Media is one of the websites that is promoting it. The Smithsonian also promotes it; the Indiana Department of Education promotes it, and even the United Nations promotes it.” Proponents of this material argue that it is not part of any mandatory curriculum, and that teachers can select to use it at will. However, the Department of Education does not provide similar materials for Christianity or Judaism.
Within this “’Access Islam,” one can find material about the “Five Pillars of Islam,” “Salat: Prayer in Muslim Life”, and “Quran: Sacred Scripture of Islam.” This material does not belong in public schools, and nowhere in the “Access Islam” material does it state that parental permission is required for teaching this. Mr. Mawyer continued to tell Breitbart News, “When we took a look at the various lesson plans that were being offered, we thought they certainly crossed the line of anything that would be considered constitutional. When teachers are expected to quiz their students on such questions as “What does a Muslim prayer sound like?” “What do Muslim prayer movements look like?” and “What are some of the things that Muslims say while they’re praying?” this is no longer a question of academia. It’s a question of what we would believe is religious indoctrination.”
This indoctrination of our young people must stop, and it starts with the parents being informed and letting school board officials know that the attempted conversion of our young people to Islam is not a function of the public school system. Ultimately, the liberal left intends to single out and ridicule students who object to this materia and does not provide them an option to not participate in something which violates their religious beliefs.
There is currently a petition on Change.org that you can sign letting Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, know that you object to “Access Islam” being funded by the Department of Education, and you want it removed from our public schools. You can sign the petition by clicking here.
