Cowboys Fans Left In Shock and Disbelief After What Owner Jerry Jones Does With Team Before Anthem To Defy Trump

Jerry Jones is the man who was on record at the beginning of the season stating that he would fire anyone that knelt for the national anthem. He has recently tried to wriggle out of his stance by kneeling with the Cowboys BEFORE the anthem and then linking arms with the team during the anthem.

Some praise him for his “attention to social injustice, but stance on the anthem,” while many call his decision a cop-out. I guess it will be left up to the individual to choose what they believe his move meant because he is sticking to his story.

According to 100% Fed Up :

The Dallas Cowboys tried to have it both ways tonight at the start of the Monday Night football game. The team was joined by owner Jerry Jones as they knelt before the national anthem…They stood with arms linked during the anthem. What do you think of this attempt to straddle the fence?

What did this accomplish? Absolutely nothing! A bunch of fools who failed civics. It’s not about them…its about the nation.

The Cardinals linked arms with members of the military during the national anthem:

The NFL’s operations manual, which, unlike its rule book, is not available to the public, states:

“During the national anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the national anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

Independent Journal Review reports :

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said before that he deeply respects the national anthem. In a 2016 interview, Jones said it is “really disappointing” when people disrespect the flag. In the interview, Jones said (emphasis added):

“I just feel so strongly that the act of recognizing the flag is a salute to our country and all of the people that have sacrificed so that we can have the liberties we have. I feel very strongly that everyone should save that moment for the recognition of the flag in a positive way, so I like the way the Cowboys do it. The forum of the NFL and the forum on television is a very significant thing. I’m for it being used, in every way we can, to support the great contributors in our society — that is people that have supported America, and the flag. For anybody to use parts of that visibility to do otherwise is really disappointing. We strongly support the flag in every way — and the people that for generations have given it all up so that we can get out here.”

When the Cowboys took the field against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night, in the wake of the anthem protest firestorm this weekend, the owner was locked arm-in-arm with his team. What Jones did next was stunning. Before the anthem played, the entire Cowboys team took a knee:

They did so as a show of solidarity.

When they did so, boos could be heard:

I personally think it is all a game for show. None of these players go out and help fight the wrongs in the neighborhood they claim are being oppressed. None of them do anything to help with the dialogue between police and the minorities that are screaming that cops should die. What do any of them do for social justice to be able to claim a knee in the name of social justice? Nothing!

Furthermore, I doubt that they ever will. This is about pandering to those they think support them. They will find out soon enough when money and sponsors go away that they were sorely mistaken. Football in no longer nor will it ever again be America’s game. We can thank the Democrats of years past and today for all of this happening and coming to a head.
