There is a good reason for President Trump’s temporary travel ban and for logical people it makes perfect sense. However, the majority of the population lacks common sense and can only throw insults when they do not understand a topic. This is why we are in the position that we are in today, and why Donald Trump was elected.
That is not more perfectly demonstrated than by what the U.N. has recently just done. The United Nations has made the choice to remove the name of a former Afghan warlord from its ISIS and Al Qaeda sanctions list.
You did read that correctly folks. According to a statement posted on Friday by the Security Council, a U.N. committee removed Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s name from the sanctions list. The U.N. then decided to unfreeze his assets, he is no longer subject to a travel ban, or to an arms embargo.
Amin Karim, the group’s chief negotiator told reporters on Saturday “The removal of sanctions proved that the solution is Afghan-owned negotiations inside the country and coming to a national consensus. If Afghans come to such a conclusion the international community is supportive of the peace process and it is good news for peace and the Afghan nation.”
Hekmatyar, a former warlord and Taliban leader, who battled U.S. forces after the 2001 invasion and nursed bitter rivalries with other Afghan factions, agreed to lay down arms last year. Karim had earlier told that he would return to the capital in “a matter of weeks, not months.” He is known to have had close ties to Osama bin Laden.
So, pretty much this guy who is a known radical has been given absolute freedom to go anywhere he wants. To add to the insanity liberals in this country do not want to vet anyone coming into our country because it may hurt people’s feelings.
How insane does that sound to you?
This is why Trump was elected and why he instated the tempory travel ban, and I am all for it. I can only hope there is a way to stop this guy before he enters America and to create more havoc. Thankfully, Trump’s new U.N. ambassador, Nikki Haley, has promised to put U.S. interests first and use the leverage of disproportionate U.S. funding of the body.
I hope she keeps her word.
What do you think?
